2026 Season Details
Sideline Cheer is open to all interested children in grades Kindergarten-8th grade for the 2026/2027 school year.
Our Teams
We will have multiple teams this season determined by registration numbers, age group and skill level.
ALL AGES!! We will have a mandatory SBC Readiness Cheer Camp in the evenings August 4th-7th.
This camp will teach cheer basics and all the cheers and motions we will be doing during the season, so it is imperative your cheerleader is available for these evenings.
This camp will be local (to be announced) from 6:00pm-8:00pm each evening.
Interested in Competition Cheer next winter? We know this is a ways off, but your cheerleader must do Sideline Cheer in order to compete on the competition team (this is an OCCA governing body rule we have to adhere to).
While Sideline practices are the focus in fall, we overlap with competition team practices through the season as well, and knowing our teams heading into the fall helps give us a head start on planning and skill development.
Please register for Competition Cheer if you are interested. This helps us plan numbers early to also align on practice space needs and practice times. No money is due at this time, unless you plan to attend the overnight summer cheer camp offered for competition cheerleaders.
Practices will are TBD
Our younger age group (think Kinder-2nd grade) generally practices 1 hour, twice a week, in the evening beginning the week of August 10th.
Games will start Saturday, September 5th or 12th, and will be every Saturday through October.
Games will be an additional 2.5 hour commitment
The older cheerleaders (think 3rd grade and up) will practice 1.5-2 hours, twice a week, in the evening beginning the week of August 10th.
Games will start Saturday, September 5th, and will be every Saturday through October. Games will be an additional 3-3.5 hour commitment
Our last practice will occur the week ending October 9th, even though games will continue beyond this date to the end of October, perhaps into early November depending on playoff schedules.
We do not know game schedules until the end of August, however, our plan this year is to cheer at only/mostly home games for all teams. That means as a team, we could cheer for 5/6 youth football one weekend and 7/8 football the next weekend. Our goal is to always commute the least distance for games.
We are at the mercy of TVYFL (Tualatin Valley Youth Football League) to release the youth football schedule, which typically happens at the end of August. We communicate it out to everyone the day we get the information, so stay tuned!
