South Beaverton Youth Cheer

What is Sideline Cheer?

Sideline cheering's main focus is to cheer for the team and engage with fans to keep the fan spirits high during the football season. Sideline cheerleaders are enthusiastic, pump up the crowd, and encourage the fans to have spirit. Our cheerleaders are also typically on the field for team announcements and post-game when the team shakes hands. We also do half-time performances for the crowds on field.

If we do not have enough cheerleaders or coaches for a specific team, we reserve the right to make adjustments.

Season Details

We start practices July 30th and practice through end of October.

Practices are at Garden Home Rec Center

Squads will practice 6p-8p Tuesday/Thursday

Pixie’s will practice 5p-6p Tuesday/Thursday

Our last practice will be October 24th, even though games will continue beyond this date.

Games begin Saturday, September 7th and go through end of October for Pixie’s and possibly as late as November 12th for  the 6th-8th grade Squads, based on playoffs for the 7/8 tackle football teams. Games are typically an 1.5 hours long for Pixie’s (3/4 tackle) and 2-2.5 hours for Squads (5/6 and 7/8 tackle). We know everyone is as eager as we are to get game dates and time on their calendars. We are at the mercy of TVYFL (Tualatin Valley Youth Football League) to release the youth football schedule, which typically happens at the end of August. We communicate it out to everyone the day we get the information, so stay tuned!

What's Included In The Cost of Cheer?

For cheer, all gear you purchase your cheerleader gets to keep.  Our fees also help cover costs associated with cheer, like fees to pay for our practice space/gym rentals, equipment we have to purchase (mats, signs, banners, etc.), certifications our coaches have to maintain, insurance for all participants, etc.  We do a lot of fundraising throughout the year and pass those efforts onto each cheerleader with cost reduction for program fees we have to charge.  However, costs are rising, so you can help us by both participating yourself and encouraging your friends and family to participate in our fundraising efforts, sponsoring our team or donating to our program through your company's matching charitable gifting programs.

We Have Ways to Help Cover Your Out of Pocket Costs!
Individual Fundraising
We work hard to create and offer multiple ways for you to fundraise for your cheerleader.  All the funds you raise go directly towards your cheerleaders costs to participate. We often have many cheerleaders fully cover their costs through their individual fundraising efforts. When you register, you are given the option to opt-in or out of Individual Fundraising.  It is not required, but is an option if you want to take advantage.
